Nechirvan Barzani will form the new Kurdish government
Brussels, Roni Alasor (9 March 2012) Ararat News - Nechirvan Barzani who is from Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) took over the Prime Minister's office from Barham Saleh from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) according to a power-share agreement signed by KDP and PUK, Kurdistan's two leading parties.
The new Prime Minister Barzani has a long and distinguished career of public service and was prime minister of the Erbil Administration from 1999 to 2006. He became the first prime minister of the unified government when the Erbil and Suleimaniah administrations merged. He served in this post until 2009.
The new Vice Premier Minister Imad Ahmed Sayfour, also an experienced politician, was the Minister for Construction and Housing from 2006 to 2009.
